I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
It is clear the fire is the Holy Spirit the very Spirit of Truth and the baptism is crucifixion and the way of the Cross.
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Some say that the great schism occurred in 1054 AD. Others date it differently, be it the Protestant “reformation”, or the Avignon Papacy, or at the fourth Ecumenical Council, but the Lord is strict and clear; “For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.” The divisions between the disciples are not difficult to discern in the Holy Scriptures. The tension existed even after the coming of the Holy Spirit.
The divisions three against two, two against three, are as foretold, Rahab, Babylon, Philistia, Tyre and Ethiopia; Protestant ever divided, Roman Catholic ever self-exalting in a sort of unity, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia ever paranoid about the others! Students of Church history see these patterns time and again.
Every twice named man in the Holy Bible is a man set against his father. Abram/Abraham, Jacob/Israel, Simon/Peter, and Saul/Paul being the most notable and obvious examples. The West is two, Rahab and Babylon while the East is three, Philistia and Tyre that are Orthodox together, and Ethiopia which in these latter times has become Orthodox forsaking the Monophysite heresy.
And He said also to the people, When you see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway you say, There comes a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, you say, There will be heat; and it comes to pass. You hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that you do not discern this time?
The cloud rising in the west is manifest today in a great apostasy and clouded thinking. The coming shower will hopefully be a return and a cleansing, but it might not be one for the gentiles. And the south wind blowing seems to be the heat of the Holy Spirit that is coming on the Oriental Orthodox who were for a long time confused.
Yes, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? When you go with thine adversary to the magistrate, as you are in the way, give diligence that you may be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
The division of Christian and Christian can only be solved by recognizing the universality of the disease that divides one from the other in a lack of humility. And Saint Luke the Physician of the Church records the disease the Lord makes known, so one might seek the remedy in humility:
And truly the Son of man goes, as it was determined: but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed! And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. And He said to them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But you shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve. For which is greater, he that sits at meat, or he that serves? is not he that sits at meat? but I am among you as he that serves.
You are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint to you a kingdom, as my Father has appointed to me; That you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
The embarrassment of the disciple’s behavior in arguing which of them was greatest led was preceded by the recognition that Christ would be betrayed. This occurs over and over again in history. Evil suspicion as well as evil heresy breeds the grandiose form of paranoia. Rather than accepting the humility of the Holy Spirit and declining elevation, men seek greater and greater power for themselves as they recognize diseases in others, but not deadly sin within themselves.
Peter’s pride and Peter’s conversion is as prophetic and as historic as it is immediate in the Holy Gospel. The generation does not pass away. The generation of sinful ambitious and prideful mankind does not abate. Only in the Holy Spirit, the very Spirit of Truth and in the humility that comes from following the Holy Spirit does one attain freedom from the need to rule over others or to make a middle class or high living off religion.
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
And he said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. And He said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that you shall thrice deny that you know me.
The horrors of the western Catholic Church in these times are manifest in the thrice denial of the Lord and these are the signs of the times. Do you think that the cock crowing before the dawn is not a symbol of the second coming?
The idolatry of the Pachamama, the insistence of infallibility as one boasts among the branches, and the ridiculous lack of faith in Holy Scripture so manifest in Rome in these times, which is a faithlessness towards the Holy Gospels and the Lord Himself. The theological virtues are abandoned, love in honoring idols, abandonment of hope in Christ by believing in oneself and one’s intellect and abandonment of faith in the truth of the Logos and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Saint Paul warned against this horror[1], and the Lord Himself prophesied it would occur, and it has. The Cock is crowing at the end of the age, 17×443, 7531 since Adam, 13×153, 1989th year since the first mystical supper, and three and a half years since the evil Pachamama idolatry will be centered approximately March 25, 2023 new Calendar, the new Calendar feast of the Annunciation.
The remedy is simple. Weeping. And the remedy will come whether people will it or not. Let us be found weeping for our own sins, which will be the cause of all the sorrows that are coming.
